Sync Cables:
- You may find a long cable is useful for charging - perhaps you want to setup your iPad as a PhotoScreen or read and charge at night, and the power source is located at a distance. The Apple sync cable ($19) is 3.25 feet (39 inches) long. If you purchase the Apple iPad 10W USB Power Adapter ($29), it includes the 39 inch sync cable and a 6 foot power cable, but that also means that the charging brick will be 39 inches from your iPad, and in most cases, this means the charging brick will have to be on top of your desk or table (which is probably 32 inches high).
- You may find long sync cables at various places on the Internet. But beware! Unless the cable is made specifically for the iPad, it will not charge the iPad at the proper rate!
The Griffin 3 Meter USB to Dock Cable is a long (10 foot) cable that is designed to charge the iPad at the correct rate.
