MN K12 Tech Coordinator Tips & Tricks
I am not a big gamer, so don't go by my list. But these are the few that I have tried and liked:
Scrabble: game play is great, and what you would expect.
N.O.V.A.: An epic, first person shooter. Kind of like HALO.
Drawn: Remember MYST? Drawn is very similar. You have to rescue a girl on the top of a tower. Each level of the house has a locked door that you have to unlock by solving riddles and puzzles as you explore the house. Great story, great artistic visuals.
Osmos HD: A nice, relaxing game. Great graphics. Part physics, part orbiting bodies, part molecular interaction. Hard to describe. But it is the Apple Game of the Year, and it is deserving. You have to manipulate your "entity" to consume other bodies that are smaller than you, while avoiding bodies that are larger than you. Objects have orbit paths, and gravity effects. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You can speed up and slow down time.
Sparkle HD: Essentially, a match-three marble-shooting game. It excels because of the "story", the ambience, great graohics, effects, and music. Nice casual game.
Gears: This is a fun marble-rolling puzzle game (that sentence doesn't actually sound very fun, but the game is fun, believe me). Great graphics, great music, fun gameplay. Another nice casual game.
World of Goo: If Tim Burton made an iPad game. Cool little freaky world of goo, that you manipulate to string your goo globuls up to a pipe. Physics-like puzzles. Great look and ambience.
Spirits: Similar to World of Goo, you have to move your spirits to the other side.
Arriving HD: A nice ambient, physics-puzzle game. Manipulate rocks and line-bridges to get from one platform to another to land on the target.
Warheads: The classic missile defense game. Nostalgic.
Infinity Blade: Amazing. Epic. You are a Knight, and you walk around a kingdom killing huge horrific beasts. Incrediable graohics and game play. Wow.
Starfall: A tower defense game with a space theme.
Master of Alchemy: A puzzle game that involves you having to come up with chemical formulas as you try to find teh scert to making gold. Pretty neat environment.
