Download Data: Agency, Students, Test Packages

  1. Mount the appropriate NTE volume in Network neighborhood
  2. Double-click the TAA application
  3. (Optional) Verify that you are downloading to the correct folder as follows : 
    1. From the Tools menu, select File Server Confirmation.
    2. Select the LES_NTE folder
  4. On the left, select NWEA Agencies >Download NWEA Agency Data.
    1. Choose from the following two options:
      1. School level NTEs: If the NTE folder will be used by only one school and that school does not appear in the box to the left of the Find Agency button, click Find Agency and select the applicable school and then click Next.
      2. District level NTEs: If the NTE folder will be used by the entire district, do not click Find Agency and click Next.
    2. Click Start Download.
    3. In the Download Agency Data window, click OK. After the download is complete, continue to the next step.

  5. On the left, select Students >Download Students.
    1. This step is N/A until the student file has been submitted to NWEA (Beth did this)
    2. Click Next, and then after the student count is loaded, click Start Download. After the download is complete, continue to the next step.

  6. On the left, select Tests >Download Test Packages.
    1. Note: The training package is 85 MB. On average, the download takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on your connection speed and network environment. Files may appear to pause during download. This is normal; allow the download to finish.
    2. In Windows you will see NO INDICATION OF PROGRESS. To verify that anything is happening at all, you can navigate to C: Windows: System 32: Packages - monitoring this folder will show you the progress (you can use View > Refresh for updates)
    3. May also appear to freeze at 47% - let it cook

  7. For Primary Test Sites: Download the Audio Files for the NTE database
    1. Copy the Audio.exe file downloaded earlier and place it in the root directory of the NTE
      1. For a 422 MB CD, it takes 1 hour to transfer from HHS to an elementary building over the T1 ( Parallels/CD )
      2. For a 422 MB CD, it takes 48 minutes to transfer from HHS to an elementary building over the T1 ( Timbuktu/CD )
      3. The ZIP extraction of the audio files takes 5 hours and 41 minutes [Parallels HHS to GES,  9:29 Am - 3:10 PM,  CCC was being used)
      4. Started WES at 6:39 PM = about 10:40 PM-ish 
      5. Audio:508 MB (533,354,584 bytes)515 MB on DIsk14,079 files
    2. Run the Audio.exe file and it will create an audio folder in the NTE (\\NTE\Audio\) and extract all .mp3 files into that directory
