Hardware Inventory

What do you do when you update a computer, and you want to maintain the computer name, IP, and auto-run info?
  1. Find the inventory record for the NEW computer
  2. Copy its MAC address
  3. Delete the inventory record for the NEW computer
  4. Find the inventory record for the OLD computer
  5. Click EDIT
  6. Paste the MAC address of the NEW computer
  7. Run RECON to update the information in the database
  • Caveats: the hardware and location history will be lost
How can you run the Every15minute policy right now?
  1. Launch Casper Remote
  2. Select the Computer(s)
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Type the following in the command field: jamf policy -trigger every15
