Keynote for iPad is a great presentation tool. However, if you make your Keynote files on a Mac first, you should be aware that not all formatting will transfer to the iPad version. Here is a list of tips that will help maintain a consistent presentation across both Mac and iPad:
Charts:
The iPad version of Keynote doesn't support 3D charts. When importing into iPad for keynote, 3D charts will import as 2D charts.
Transitions:
The iPad version of Keynote does not support all of the same transition effects as the Mac version. here is a list of transition effects support on the iPad. When importing a presentation that uses a transition or build not available in Keynote, it is replaced with the dissolve transition/build. See table below for details.
Builds:
Similarly, the iPad version of Keynote does not support all of the same build effects as the Mac version. here is a list of build effects support on the iPad When importing a presentation that uses a transition or build not available in Keynote, it is replaced with the dissolve transition/build. See table below for details.
Fonts:
The iPad version of Keynote has a more limited set of available fonts to chose from. When importing a presentation that uses a font not available on iPad, iWork attempts to replace an unsupported font with one that is a close match. If a close match is not found, the Helvetica font will be used instead. See table below for details.
Miscellaneous:
The iPad version of Keynote does not support Conditional Formatting.
