Project Scope
The Digital Sign initiative in our school started in the Activities Department. The Activities Director wanted a sign to promote events and achievements. We wanted coverage in the Activities Wing, and in the cafeteria, in order to ensure that a majority of students would be exposed to the content.
We decided on a simple flat-panel TV display in the Activities wing, which would be viewable from the hallways, entering the office, the balcony, and the concessions area.
The cafeteria is a very big room, with large pillars spread throughout. It would have taken a dozen TV monitors to cover the entire space, so we oped to instead use two projectors and project the sign onto two large walls in the cafeteria. These signs are viewable from nearly any location in the cafeteria.
Since the cafeteria was also used for frequent public meetings, we wanted to incorporate the ability to use the projectors to display slide presentations and DVD content.
Digital Sign Hardware - We needed hardware to remotely control the displays and viewing sources, as well as some infrastructure to use the cafeteria for public meetings. Click here to explore the hardware used for our Digital Sign system.
Digital Sign Software - We needed software to create and manage the sign content as well as the schedule for the content. Click here to explore the software used for our Digital Sign system.
Digital Sign Usage & Workflow - And finally we needed systems and procedures in place to keep the content current and relevant. Click here to explore the software used for our Digital Sign system.
